Our Latest Ofsted Report
Inspection inspection date : 4th October 2022
Our School continues to be Good!
The report’s opening reflection is a true credit to all the staff who have worked tirelessly to successfully transition our school from a Federation of two First Schools to a single CofE Primary;
‘Pupils enjoy coming to this welcoming and friendly school. They are happy and confident and speak highly of how teachers look after them.’ Ofsted 2022
The inspection process was very thorough and rigorous. I am delighted that the hard work undertaken by the pupils, staff, governors and parents as we have transitioned to being Ashlands CofE Primary School has been recognised and celebrated. In particular, the comments regarding our work on key curriculum areas, the broad range of opportunities we offer and the positive relationships we build across our community.
‘Reading is a high priority. Pupils talk about their favourite authors and the books they have written with enthusiasm. Their love of reading is evident. Staff are well trained and skilled in the teaching of phonics.’ Ofsted 2022
‘Leaders establish clear behaviour routines and expectations as soon as children start in the Reception Year. Pupils display positive attitudes to their learning.’ Ofsted 2022
‘Leaders have secured a strong curriculum offer in mathematics. The content that pupils cover is challenging and well ordered.’ Ofsted 2022
‘Pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) are fully involved in all aspects of school life.’ Ofsted 2022
‘An effective programme to develop pupils’ personal development ensures that they are well prepared for life in modern Britain.’ Ofsted 2022
‘Leaders provide pupils with a broad range of opportunities to support their personal development.’ Ofsted 2022
Moving forward the areas of development identified by the Ofsted Team already form the key areas of development in place on our current School Development Plan. Ofsted recognised this and reflected on the strength of the Leadership Team in their accurate identification of focus areas for ongoing school development.
The report highlights many positive elements of the provision at Ashlands CofE Primary School and in particular your wonderful children. As I observed the interactions between the Ofsted Team and children across each year group, I reflected very proudly how fortunate we are to have such wonderful pupils who are great ambassadors for the future. I do hope that you can take the time to read the inspection report in full.
Thank you all for your continued support of our school and our aims to enable every child to fulfil their potential and develop a ‘Love of Learning, Love of Life and Love of One Another’.
