Our Christian Values

Life in all its fullness’ is lived through our school values of Forgiveness, Trust, Respect, Compassion, Aspiration and Friendship.  These are rooted in love.  These are embedded in all we do and have been chosen by the school community as values we should all try to adopt and live by.  Our communities understanding of these values are strengthened by God’s narrative, actions and teachings.

Compassion

At Ashlands we look after each other and share and think about how others feel. We teach children that their attitudes and actions should reflect kindness and compassion.

‘Who comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God’  Corinthians 1:4

Friendship

At Ashlands we are kind and encourage one another and help our friends.  The Bible tells us that Jesus was a friend to all, regardless of who they were.

My command is this; love each other as I have loved you’ John 15:12

Respect

We believe we should respect ourselves and treat others with consideration and understanding respect another person’s point of view; respect the property of others; treat others fairly and show respect for the world in which we live.

Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work.  Live in peace with each other’   Thessalonians 5:13

Trust

At Ashlands we rely on each other to be honest and truthful, and this inspires trust.  Trust is essential to human life and lies at the heart of all our relationships.

‘Trust in the Lord and do good’  Psalm 37:3

Forgiveness

At Ashlands we give people a chance to start again, it is okay to get things wrong.  We understand that everyone makes mistakes, and when we forgive, we can move forward and have a fresh start.

‘Be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you’     Ephesians 4:32

Aspiration

At Ashlands we always try our best and think about our future goals and how we can get there! Aspiration is hope in God’s transforming power. It is a hope grounded in the promise of God and in his action through and in Jesus Christ.

‘I can do all this through him who gives me strength’     Philippians 4:13
