What is SIAMS?
At Ashlands Primary School, we are proud to be a Church of England school. As part of this, we are regularly inspected under a framework called SIAMS – the Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools.
SIAMS inspections focus on how well our school’s Christian vision shapes every aspect of school life. Our vision is:
“Love of learning, love of life, love of one another. Life in all its fullness.”
(Inspired by John 10:10)
This means we aim to create a nurturing and inclusive environment where children and adults can flourish academically, socially, and spiritually.
Unlike Ofsted, which looks at academic standards, SIAMS explores:
- How our Christian values are lived out day-to-day
- The impact of our vision on pupils’ wellbeing and personal development
- The quality of collective worship and Religious Education
- How we support all members of our school community to thrive
SIAMS helps us reflect on how we can continue to grow as a school that celebrates faith, love, and learning in all its fullness.
Our SIAMS Inspection July 2025
Dear Parents and Carers,
I am absolutely delighted to share with you the outcome of our recent SIAMS (Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools) inspection, which took place on 1st July 2025. The inspector recognised that Ashlands is a school where pupils and adults truly “live life in all its fullness”, shaped by our Christian vision and values. The report recognises the way in which our staff, pupils, and wider community work together to make Ashlands a nurturing, inclusive and inspiring place to learn, grow and flourish.
The inspection celebrated many aspects of our school, and I would like to highlight just a few of the key strengths noted:
- Our dedicated staff team, who serve our community with compassion and commitment, enabling both children and adults to flourish.
- A strong culture of care and belonging, where kindness and respect are underpinned by our Christian vision and values.
- A broad and aspirational curriculum, designed to inspire a love of learning and support every child’s personal development.
- Thoughtfully planned collective worship that nurtures spirituality and invites pupils to reflect on life’s big questions.
- The way in which staff use creative and enriching experiences to build pupils’ confidence, character and understanding of their place in the world.
We are especially proud that the inspector recognised the strength of our relationships and the inclusive, joyful nature of our school life. She wrote:
“The committed leadership and staff team value pupils as individuals. This is evident in how the school lives out its vision through Christian values of compassion, friendship, aspiration, forgiveness, trust and respect — all underpinned by love.”
This result is a testament to the incredible dedication and professionalism of our entire team at Ashlands. Every member of staff works with integrity, care and tireless commitment to make our vision a reality — and this inspection rightly celebrates their efforts.
We also want to thank you, our families, for your continued support, encouragement and partnership. Together, we help our children grow in confidence, character and compassion.
I have attached a copy of the full SIAMS for you to share, this is also available on our school website. A printed copy can be requested from the school office.
With heartfelt thanks and warmest regards,
Nicola Ball
